Susan is a Beaumont, Texas, native with a Bachelor’s degree in Elemantary Education and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Her goals for the Ranch include maintaining the highest standards of guest services, and holds a philosophy that highly values all Ranch employees. In her spare time, she enjoys snow skiing and traveling with her husband Jody and sons, Trey and Weston.
Buck grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He worked on ranches all over the Hill Country from the times he was ten. He was a farrier, or horseshoer, for 40 years, and after hanging up his chaps he grabbed a guitar and has played it at the Flying L ever since. Buck plans all your fun and lively entertainment here on the Ranch. He always has a song and a smile for you!
Tawni grew up in Alaska surrounded by horses, but left after finishing school to move to a warmer climate for all year riding. She traveled widely competing in barrel racing and team roping for many years. She now owns a ranch hidden in the hills of Bandera, raising horses and cattle with her husband. She chose a working cowgirls life to keep horses close to her heart. For 18 years she has grown with the Flying L serving many of those years as the Head Wrangler overseeing the stables, trail rides, the many horses, and a crew of cowboys and cowgirls. She also travels nationwide with the world famous Catalena Cowgirls to rodeos and special events performing precision drills on big paint horses at breakneck speed displaying the patriotic Red, White, and Blue!
Joni began the Flying L 11 years ago as the Country Line dancing instructor. Young and old love kicking up their heels and boot scootin’ the dance floor under the stars at Ghost Town with Joni. When she is not burning up the dance floor, you can find her helping groups and making sure all their needs are met with that Texas friendly attitude… and smile!
Janet has many duties here on the Flying L with being Front Desk Manager and Kid’s Activites Director. She makes sure all is running smooth as guests check in and out, and all their needs are met. As Kid’s Avtivities Director she also oversees the activities provided for our guest’s children here on the Ranch.
Tina was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, and raised in Pennsacola, Florida, and San Diego, California before coming to Bandera, Texas. She always wanted to live in Texas “where the cowgirls live” as long as her mom remembers. She made it here and has been working on the Flying L since 2006. She has moved up the ranks, becoming the Food and Beverage Director in 2012. Tina loves serving all our guests, and feels that she has the most incredible staff in her departments, calling them all Stars!
Randy grew up in New Jersey, but got to Texas as soon as he could! After earning a Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, he started his carrer as a golf course superintendet in the Washington D.C. area. He moved to Houston in 1995 and managed several courses before moving to the Flying L in 2006. After working six years to improve the golf course, he also took on the managment of the Golf Shop. Randy considers himself a “casual” golfer and enjoys motocycling through the scenic Hill Country with his wife, Susie.
Jody is out resident Nashville recording artist heading up the famous Jody Jenkins Band! He is married to our General Manager, Susan, and they have two boys. Not only is Jody involved with the Timeshare sales, but also helps the Ranch look great by the remodeling and renovations he is heading up. Caral was born and rasied in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She and husband William worked for a large homebuilder for 20 years. They transferred to Houston to help open up a new sales and architectural office. On a weekend drive through the Hill Country they found Bandera and the rest is history. Caral joined the Flying L team in 2005 and now heads up the General Store. Caral and her husband enjoy hiking their property to look for historic artifacts and fossils.
Cherish and her husband first came to Texas to visit family in Bandera. They were both “city folk” from Sandy, Utah, but fell in love with Texas and the Hill Country and moved the family here in 1999. Cherish joined the Flying L family in the Administrative Department in 2008 where she handles many duties including Accounts Payables, Human Resources, and Administrative Assistant duites. She keeps busy with her two soons and two daughters, cheering them along at sporting, school, and church events with her husband. She says any time spent with family is a great joy.
Violetta has called the Ranch home since 2006. Violetta originates from Russia but loves her adopted Texas Hill Country. She manages the Housekeeping Department, overseeing her dedicated crew that makes sure you have a pleasant stay in your accommodations and other Ranch facilities. She loves traveling to explore new places, and gardening and tending plants in the yard with her fiancee Martin.
Martin was born and raised in Sweden, and moved to the USA and Texas in 1979. He has a long background in managment, biology, natural history, and wildlife. He was the Executive Director of a non-profit nature center in the Rio Grande Valley for 13 years before moving to Bandera and the Flying L in Janaury 2013. Besides groups sales and marketing, he plays several roles on the Ranch including Safety Coordiantor, and Web Master. Martin is also the resident naturalist on the Ranch, and of course enjoys the natural side of the Ranch.
Andrea has lived in Texas almost all her life, moved to Bandera in 1987, and is a proud Bandera Bulldog alumni! She attended North West Vista College in San Antonio, followed by Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington. Andrea joined the Flying L in 2008 as a receptionist for the Villas at Flying L, joined Owner Services in 2009, and took over as Director in 2010. She manages all awner accounts, reservations, travel requests, and contracts. Her goal is to ensure the best vacation experience for our Vacation Owners while staying at the Ranch. In her personal life her family is the most important, and loves to run, paint, photograph, and playing her guitar.
